Description

  • 35 cm, 13 3/4  in.
the shallow rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to a broad everted rim, finely enamelled to the interior with a cusped medallion enclosing a seated lady playing a qin, the rim with four purple enamel floral panels divided by gilt and iron-red floral panels, the reverse entirely plain

Condition

In general good condition with the exception of fritting to the foot rim, some surface scratches, rubbing to the enamel and gilding, consistent with age. The base with an area of yellow discolouration to the glaze (approx. 5.5 x 4.5 cm). There are minor firing imperfections including burst bubbles, iron spots.
