Condition
Overall very good condition. The wooden surface with minor scattered scuffs, nicks, light scratches and abrasions as is typical with age and gentle use. The lower apron and feet with more pronounced scuffs, bumps, and minor evidence of paint residue, none of which are visually detractive. There is a minor seam separation at the upper corner joints which are stable and common in wood of this age. There is surface dirt in the recessed areas of the metalwork decoration on the front doors. The upper marquetry panel presents with a complex underwater motif, executed in highly figured and saturated wood veneers. The reverse of the marquetry panel with one original screw missing, but does not affect stability. The interior with two horizontal wooden shelves (non-adjustable) along with three divided cubby holes along the bottom. The pair of doors each with a lock, sharing an original key. An elegant form with Majorelle’s characteristic clean lines and organic silhouette.
