Condition
Overall in very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces display a rich russet brown patina with some gentle rubbing, scattered surface scratches and abrasions, and surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design, consistent with age and gentle use. The bronze with some traces of oxidation concentrated to the recessed portions of the design, particularly the centers of the flowers. The mosaic favrile glass tiles with a few isolated tight hairlines (all which appear stable) and with some minor edge wear with some associated minor losses. One tile adjacent to a bronze bud appears to have been replaced. The mosaic glass is beautifully iridized, imparting the glass with strong luminosity and a range of brilliant emerald and sapphire hues. The tiles display vigorous wave-form decoration which imparts the jardinière with strong rhythmic movement. The bottom interior of the jardinière (beneath the liner) and interior rim with minor surface discolorations and oxidation. The liner appears to be original and presents with minor surface scratches, oxidation and surface soil consistent with age and use. A superb example of the form displaying an outstanding glass selection.
