Condition

Overall very good condition. All elements (mirror, favrile glass insets, hardware) appear original and undisturbed. The patinated bronze surfaces display a rich russet brown and green patina, with occasional scattered minor surface scratches and abrasions, and with minor traces of surface soiling and oxidation to the recessed contours of the design consistent with age and gentle handling. The original mirror is executed with a rolled beveled glass, which imparts the mirror with wonderful dimensionality, and is in very good condition with some occasional extremely fine and light surface scratches and some extremely light traces of surface soiling to the recessed contour of the outer edge. The mirror plate rotates freely; when presented in one configuration the top of the plate leans slightly forward, but when presented in the alternate configuration will remain stationary in the desired angled position. The peacock motif extends to the patinated bronze back plate of the central mirror, which is fully decorated with a whirling peacock feather design. An exceptionally dynamic and sculptural design in excellent original condition.
