Condition
This work is in original unlined condition with associated minor bumping and pulling in the upper right corner. There is a patch adhered to the reverse just to the right of the central stretcher bar. The work presents well and the surface remains vibrant and fresh. There are small areas of loss and lifting on the ground at lower center and lower left. Abrasion scattered along the extreme edges. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. There is a square area of inpainting between the camel's head and the veil, which corresponds to the aforementioned patch. There are finely applied retouches and areas of strengthening scattered throughout the figures and their costumes, and also along the left and lower edges. On the seated man with the cittern there is a horizontal line of inpainting across his lap and a diagonal line of inpainting on his head. There are broad areas of brushy fluorescence in the sky at upper right and a few additional dashes of retouching in the sky at upper left.
