Condition
Lined. The surface is clean and stable, aside from minor, finely patterned craquelure visible in the lighter pigments. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green throughout the picture surface. Broad, brushy dashes of retouching cover the entire background and a few additional areas on the table. There are finely painted dashes and lines of retouching scattered on and around the boy, his hat, the bowl, and the bubble, and at lower left. There is additional inpainting in the lower right corner.
