Condition
Pastel on paper stretched on canvas, the paper extending beyond the drawn image on either side (sight dimensions are 27 by 36 ¼ in.). Overall the colors remain vibrant and the medium fresh. There is a very small circular loss near the right edge to the right of the kneeling man. When unframed: a pencil inscription is visible in the upper right corner that reads '97 c/ D 5/ 88 c'; a few artist pinholes are visible in the corners; and there is minor bumping and pulling in all four corners. The right side of the image is lightly smudged, part of which is visible when the work is framed. There are diagonal tears in the paper in the upper left corner and extending from the lower right edge (both of which are visible when the work is framed), and also in the lower left and right corners; and some irregular tears of varying sizes along the extreme edges and around the stretcher frame.
