Condition

The oval canvas appears to be tightly lined. The painting presents a lovely image with the vibrant colors of the paint well preserved, though slightly pressed possibly as a result of the relining. There is some scattered craquelure throughout. Inspection under UV shows some finely applied inpainting possibly to address the aforementioned craquelure visible in the background, meanwhile other minor ones at left in her forehead and on the bottom of the blue robe at right. Varnish fluoresces unevenly at bottom right of the canvas. Other areas with scattered retouching are on the whites, like her shirt and headband, on her face, where there are two lines on her cheek as well a small spot on her neck, and possibly along the edges. The painting could hang in its present state. Offered in an oval and gilded wood frame.
