Condition

The panel is uncradled, flat, and stable. A striking image reads well, though there is some thinness to the paint in areas. At the top edge there appears to be three small fills from a possible old loss, one at upper center, and the other two at upper left. Inspection under UV shows some scattered retouches on the bottom right quadrant, on the background sky, and on the trees left of center. Very few, tiny spots of retouching fluoresce on the bottom left quadrant, though there might be more underneath the milky varnish. Two other possible fills appear to be on the sky, at about 3 in. from the top edge on the right side. Painting could hang in its present state and is offered in a dark wooden frame.
