Condition
The canvas is laid on board which is backed by canvas. The painting reads well, with the colors in the robes well preserved. There is some craquelure visible throughout, with some scattered spots of loss, for example like in the bottom of Joseph's robe and on top of the dog's head at right. Wear to edges and corners consistent with frame abrasion. Inspection under UV is impeded due to an uneven milky varnish, though there may be some retouching beneath. More recent retouches are scattered in the craquelure in the background at the upper quadrant, in the center upper sky, and in the upper right corner. A few scattered spots are in the lower quadrant. Painting is offered unframed.
