Description

Suspending a detachable pendant centered on a pear-shaped peridot, the surmount set with a cushion-cut peridot, each within an old mine-cut diamond and seed pearl frame; circa 1900. With detachable pin fitting.

Condition

In good condition, especially given the age of the piece, with minor surface scratches to the mounting, not noticeable when worn. Mounting tests as 14 karat gold. The peridots, estimated to weigh approximately 9.35 and 6.60 carats, are medium yellowish green, very slightly included, with abrasions, chips and nicks to the crown, noticeable under close inspection. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.10 carats, are approximately G-I color, VS-SI clarity. The round and near-round seed pearls are of silvery white to cream body color, a few with soft green and rosé overtones, fair to good luster, and minor to moderate ringing and pitting, not noticeable when worn. Length approximately 2 inches including detachable bail.
