註:本幅以「聖殤」為題,畫中見十字架一角,瑪利亞緊抱剛卸下之耶穌,其雙目緊閉,軀體手垂無力,瑪利亞依偎在懷。畫中手法較寫實,人物間之關係、情感頓現,用色冷峻,調子沉晦,凸顯情境中之悲劇色彩。林風眠以基督入畫者,偶見於早年至晚期作品中,此無涉宗教信仰,卻攸關其悲天憫人之人道主義精神,與基督救贖之旨意相通。畫中處理手法,類近其歐洲習畫後之早期創作風格,仍未見與國畫調和融合之痕迹,若與原藏者駐華之經歷,本幅似為三十年代中期前之作。
