- Zhang Daqian (Chang Dai-chien, 1899-1983)
- Perching by the Autumn Leaves
- ink and colour on gold paper, pair of fan leaves, framed
- each 18.4 by 51.7 cm. 7 ¼ by 20 3/8 in. (2)
signed YUAN, dated 1949, inscribed, with a dedication, and two seals of the artist. The other, calligraphy by Ye Gongchuo
Condition
-Signs of restoration can be found in the middle of the upper edge of the painting leaf, where there appears to be paper losses previously. Minor oxidation of white pigment could be found at the leaves, which can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, the painting leaf is generally in fairly good condition and the calligraphy leaf good condition.
