Condition
The bronze is sound with a varied greenish black patina. There is a light buildup of surface dirt in the deepest crevices. There are a few spots of accretion to the surface in places, primarily near the base at back of sculpture. This work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note
The present work is one of only three known casts of this subject and the only example cast by Georges Rudier. One of the other examples, cast by Alexis Rudier, is in the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia.
