Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. The colors are vibrant, and the media layer is stable overall. A varnish is present. Light wear, a light layer of soiling and minor scattered pinpoint pigment losses are present along the extreme edges of the canvas. A few scattered pinpoint spots of pigment loss are present in the lower right quadrant, in the forest below the volcano. Under ultraviolet light inspection, a few scattered isolated areas of fluorescence measuring 1 inch or less in diameter become apparent in the upper right quadrant in the clouds, and in the center right quadrant in the forest encircling the volcano; which may be inherent to the pigments selected by the artist.
