Catalogue Note
"Thiebaud's audaciously designed landscape paintings...depicting exaggerations such as horizon, which may be either represented as an arc or straight line. The paintings look geologically inconceivable, with the horizons running at impossible angles, frequently diagonally from corner to corner." "The paintings look geologically inconceivable, with the horizons running at impossible angles, either represented as an arc or straight line... it has to do with an innocent point of view and a sense of wonder about the painted object. In a way, it is from the perspective and enchanting spirit which reaches out to touch and engage the inner child in each of us."
