Condition
This work is in good condition overall. The edges of the sheet are deckled. There are artist’s pinholes in the top two corners. There is evidence of discoloration to the sheet and evidence of wear and handling with some minor indentations and crease most notably at the upper left corner. There is evidence of conservation throughout, including tear repairs, with a minor spot of Japanese paper visible in the center, reattachment of tapes and some fills with inpainting at a collage element at the upper right. A few of the collaged sheets show light evidence of silverfish damage, with the collaged element at the upper right showing the most area of restoration, including minor paper fills and light retouching to the sheet, and two small holes to the sheet that were not repaired. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat intermittently along the edges. Framed under Plexiglas.

Catalogue Note
"His courage in performing looser, more disarrayed traces, is especially apparent in the works on paper, where the dog-eared, the torn-away, the dimpled, crumpled, chewed-up, and grubby are all enthusiastically welcomed into the creative process.”
