Colour: The colours in the cataogue illustration are fairly accurate. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Some dust fibres have adhered to the recesses of the frame and there is evidence of handling with associated media accretions and rub marks in places. There are drying cracks throughout the frame, with some associated small specks of loss in isolated places, most notably to the upper left corner. Close inspection reveals some pressed impasto peaks in the thickly painted areas of the canvas, and some light dust fibres which have adhered to the recesses. Further close inspection reveals some drying cracks to the thicker layers of paint towards the centre of the upper edge. There are two thin scratches on the uppermost layer of paint; a diagonal one directly above the "b", and another one to the lower edge, approximately 40cm from the lower left corner, which appears to have been inpainted. No other restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
