Condition

The dress might have been shortened at waist level : patterns are indeed not matching (silhouettes are cut) at waist level but it is the same in different other junctions of the fabric over the dress ; several orange stains, dress globally dirty, needs cleaning, dark traces especially at the bottom of the dress. Little snags and scratches on the satin. Perspiration rings inside the dress. The zip works but the pull is missing. Ruffle on left strap is unstitched but the archives drawing shows that the ruffles were originally probably not attached to the shoulder strap but falling on the sides). The fabric of the label is very fragile (ripping...). White label, black signature 'Schiaparelli 21, place Vendôme Paris'. Stamped "Eté 1939'. Atelier label n°67475.
