Condition
Executed on cream wove paper and laid down. The sheet is timestained and slightly undulating. There is a flattened horizontal fold and a flattened vertical fold running across the composition. There is a small tear towards the upper part of the left edge and another very minor tear towards the centre of the right edge. There are some tiny flattened creases in places. This work is in overall good condition.

Cette œuvre est une étude pour le dessin du costume de Goliath dans le ballet David Triomphant (scénario de Lifar, musique et chorégraphie de Debussy et Mussorgsky, costumes et décor de Léger). Le ballet a été présenté pour la première fois au Théâtre de la Maison Internationale des Etudiants à Paris, le 15 décembre 1936.
