Provenance

Acquired in China between 1894 and 1922.
Thence in the family by descent.

Condition

There is minor wear to the title slip. The silk mount with some stains. There are old losses to the paper of the calligraphy which have been retouched, particularly along the upper left hand corner and along the right hand edge of the scroll. There is minor wear, some horizontal and diagonal creases. The colour of the gold-flecked paper is less yellow than the catalogue illustration suggests.
