The most influential map of Canada of the 17th-century.  Based on accounts of Jesuit explorers, it names Lake Erie as a recognizable and distinct lake for the first time and depicts Long Island and New Amsterdam in their correct locations. The first map of Canada to show the five Great Lakes.
