Description

  • huahuali rosewood (Dalbergia odorifera)
  • 13.8 by 36.9 by 20.8 cm, 5 3/8  by 14 1/2  by 8 1/4  in.
the hinged cover and the sides carved in low relief with dense floral scrolls and rockwork, the front embellished with a lock plate and a ruyi-shaped hasp, the sides flanked by a pair of C-shaped handles suspending from floral roundels

Condition

The casket is in overall good condition. There are some expected light scratches to the base. There is an age crack showing on the interior of the cover by one side near the joint and a couple of age cracks to the base. The wood bears a fine age patina.
