sur un fond bleu foncé de neuf dragons à cinq griffes pourchassant la perle enflammée parmi les nuages, de caractères shou, de symboles auspicieux bouddhistes, d'emblèmes des Immortels et de chauve-souris, au-dessus de vagues mouvementées s'écrasant contre des rochers escarpés encadrés de grues en vol

Acquired in China between 1894 and 1922.
Thence in the family by descent.

Condition

The robe is in good overall condition. The robe and sleeves are lined with a blue/turquoise silk. There are small humidity stains to the inside lining and wear to the inside of the sleeves. There are two humidity stains on the front top right and left parts of the robe. There are some discoloured areas and tiny wear towards the lower part of the robe. The buttons may have been replaced.
