Condition
It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. The canvas is not lined and slightly loose. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light appears to reveal a few spots of fluorescence, notably to the centre of the left edge, towards the lower left corner and to the lower right quadrant, possibly lacks of varnish, which does not appear to be related to retouching. There are some thin lines of craquelure, most predominately in the sky, and a few areas of paint shrinkage, notably in the green pigment to the trees in the right part of the composition. There are a few scattered fly spots. There is some frame rubbing along the extreme edges. This work is in overall good condition and could benefit from a clean.
