Description
- Lyonel Feininger
- Cityscape
- Executed in 1952.
Condition
Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down. There is a Watermark at the upper centre of the sheet. The sheet is hinged to the overmount at two points on the verso of the upper edge. The edges are slightly uneven and the lower edge is deckled. The sheet is lightly time-stained. There are three flattened creases running horizontally across the sheet: parallel to the upper and lower edges and through the centre of the composition. There is a further vertical crease running parallel to the left edge and another running from the right part of the upper edge. There are minor spots of surface abrasion visible along the perimeter of the sheet which appear to be related to the removal of an old mounting. This work is in overall good stable condition.
