Condition
While this unique object has not been examined out of the frame, it appears to be in generally excellent condition. As is usual with Peter Beard's process, there are a few faint surface scratches and disruptions, and scattered deposits of paint and ink overall. The inscription by the photographer reads: 'Box 4191, Nairobi, en route to Tsavo, Kenya, for The End of the Game and Longing for Darkness (with intro by J. K. O.), HBJ '75.' The collaged elements comprise one Peter Beard photograph of a live elephant and 4 of elephant carcasses. The facsimile Peter Beard Studio stamp indicates that this print was made in March 2004 and is inventory number 3400.
