Condition
The panel is flat, even, and ensuring a stable support. There is some very fine drying craquelure visible upon close inspection in the dark impasto in the figure's clothing. Ultra-violet light reveals an uneven layer of residual varnish which makes the surface difficult to read. However, some minor scattered spots of retouching are visible notably in the man's clothing in the lower half of the composition. Small signs of retouching are also visible in the man's face. Overall, this work is in good condition and ready to hang.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate.
