Condition

Overall good condition. Executed in rich teak wood, and elegantly enhanced with metal inlays at each place setting, the table conveys an impressive presence when fully extended. The wood surfaces present with faint minor surface scratches, nicks and scattered minor abrasions, consistent with age and gentle use, largely concentrated to the lower portions of the legs. The finish of the table top has been refinished at some stage in the piece's history. As such the veneer on top is rather thin and showing silhouettes of the internal frame structure as well as a few hairlines in the veneer. These are presently stable but would benefit from professional conservation. Please contact the department for images. The silvering of the plated dots with light visible abrasion, wear the plating and faint surface scratches, all consistent with age and gentle use.
