Description

  • Carl Auböck
  • Coatrack
  • one hook impressed Auböck
  • brass, leather, enameled steel, beech
together with four hangers, eight hooks and a shoehorn

Condition

Overall very good original colour and condition. There is some slight wear to the varnish to the top surfaces of some of the horizontal slats. The enameled metal surfaces all remain in overall excellent condition. The leather bound hangers and bronze hooks all remain in very good condition with attractive patina. The shoe horn remains in overall very good original condition with the exception of small area of loss (approx. 1 inch) to the leather to the top of where the frame curls around into a loop. There is a small/minor kink to the edge of the shoe horn element. The leather and bronze surfaces all exhibit an attractive patina and the shoe horn element has an attractive martele texture. Overall this represents a rare opportunity to acquire a rare Carl Aubock model – the shoe horn itself is particularly rare.
