the hinged top above a triple-panelled frieze surrounded by a foliate border, flanked by carved pilasters, on an acanthus-carved base

Condition
A decorative piece in good condition, with marks and scratches and traces of old woodworm, no longer active. The top, with overall staining and some discoloration, is fixed so at open partially. The lower acanthus frontal frieze and capitals now adapted as feet are probably 17th century. The pilasters and top also possibly 17th century. Losses to carving. With a modern made-to-measure plinth.
