- Portrait of Sir John Stuart Hepburn-Forbes, 8th Bt. (1804-1866); together with a portrait of his wife and daughter
- Both watercolour over pencil, heightened with bodycolour and gum arabic;
each inscribed, possibly by the artist: Drawn by Mrs Musgrave, further inscribed verso with the sitters identities - Each 330 by 280 mm
Condition
Both works are in generally good condition. There is some surface dirt and the paper has discoloured slightly. The frame of the second work has suffered some losses.

Catalogue Note
In June 1834, Sir William married Lady Harriet Louisa Anne Kerr (d. 1869), the third daughter of the 6th Marquess of Lothian. In 1835 the couple had a daughter, Harriet Wilhamina Hepburn Forbes (1835-1869). In July 1858 Harriett married Charles, 20th Baron Clinton.
