Condition
The panel is un cut and un cradled. There are two old horizontal splits or joins, one of which is held by recently applied support batons on the reverse. The painting appears to have been recently cleaned and restored. Appears to be in good condition with no major damages. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals some gentle touching out through the sky to minimalize the effect of a degree of wear, and some passages of restoration in the centre foreground to strengthen outlines of the dunes, figures, and buildings. In overall good condition.
Offered in a later composite gilt wood and plaster frame in fair condition with some minor damages.
