Description

  • 60cm. high, 61.5cm. wide, 25cm. deep; 1ft. 11¾in., 2ft. ¼in., 10in.
with a glazed door opening and brass grille to each side, the interior with three display brackets, probably originally raised on a stand

Condition

Country house condition. brass gallery is broken in areas and would benefit form fixing. One return lacking its glass panel. The interior astragal brass fitting are not secure. some mounts loose.

The high quality gilt bronze palmette mounts relate to a pair of corner cabinets supplied by Marsh and Tatham to George Finch, 4th Earl Winchelsea for Burley-on-the-hill, Rutland and are typical of their style from this period (sold, Christie's, London, 9th April 1992, lot 93).
