Condition
The panel is uncradled, but has a line of blocks adhered to the reverse that support two old horizontal splits, one of which runs the width of the panel 8 inches from the upper margin; the other is just above it, and runs about three quarters of the way across. The paint surface is stable and the varnish discoloured. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals very little as the varnish fluoresces opaque. To the naked eye there is visible a line of restoration to the aforementioned splits and some further more minor scattered retouchings.
Offered in a later parcel gilt wood frame with a few chips.
