with yellow and gilt borders reserving a gilded crest of a lion, comprising 21 plates in two sizes, 6 cake plates, a small bowl, 8 large breakfast cups and 10 saucers, 11 tea cups in two sizes and 14 saucers, 6 coffee cans and 3 saucers, and two sugar bowl covers, crown, crossed baton, D marks in iron-red and puce, together with an English porcelain part-breakfast service, circa 1810, with similar yellow borders comprising two footed two-handled rectangular comports, three serving plates, five breakfast cups and saucers, five teacups and three saucers, and two twin-handled cups and stands,
Condition
In country house condition. It is suggested that the service is viewed in the galleries.
Of the crested pieces:
5 cups are cracked, 2 are lacking a handle; 2 coffee cans are cracked, 2 are chipped; 3 saucers are chipped, 1 is chipped and cracked, and 3 have glaze crazing; 2 plates are cracked and a further one is cracked and chipped, one plate has a footrim chip. One plate has two small sections of the rim loose and separate.
Of the uncrested pieces:
2 cups are cracked; a stand has a rim chip; 3 saucers have a body crack one of which has a rim chip; 1 plate is stained.
