Comprising: a gold and enamel mourning ring, 1828, designed as a foliate chased band decorated with two lines of black enamel, inscribed "Sir Wm Forbes, died 24th Oct 1828, Aged 56", partial British hallmarks, size O; a gold and enamel mourning ring, 1829, set to the centre with a rectangular glazed locket containing a lock of plaited hair, set between foliate chased shoulders accented with black enamel, inscribed "Lady Jane Stuart, Died 28th October 1829, Aged 76" size J; a gold and black enamel mourning ring, 1808, inscribed "Jean Elphinston, OB 28 Sep, 1808, AE 58" British hallmarks, size M; a gold, blue and white  enamel mourning ring, 1790s, inscribed "M.E Toujours L.C" set with a hinged locket the enamelled cover inscribed "Ne Change Qu'en Mourant" size M; a gold and enamel mourning ring, 1798, the square bezel set with a lock of plaited hair within a frame of black and white enamel, inscribed "Countefs of Leven & Melville, Obt 10th May 1798, Aet 73, 2d Tim:1 Ch: 12 Verse" size O.

Condition

1828 ring, mounted in gold, partial British hallmarks for Edinburgh 18 carat gold, minor abrasions and wear, commensurate with age and wear, in good condition. 1829 ring, mounted in gold, minor abrasions and wear, commensurate with age and wear, in good condition. 1808 ring, mounted in gold, British hallmarks for London 1808, minor abrasions commensurate with age and wear, in good condition. 1790s ring, mounted in gold, locket cover lose and with large chip with enamel inscription partially deficient near hinge, minor abrasions commensurate with age and wear; inscription "change only by dying" and "M.E always L.C" 1798 ring, mounted in gold, glass cover to hair locket deficient, minor abrasions commensurate with age and wear with some small chips and losses to enamel; 2d Tim:1 Ch: 12 Verse" "That is why I am suffering as I am.
