gilt full plate movement, verge escapement, decoratively pierced and engraved masked balance cock, chain and fusee, square baluster pillars, signed and numbered And Dunlop, London 1979; white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute track, blued steel beetle and poker hands; 18k gold plain inner case, winding square to back, London hallmark for 1726, outer case with repoussé scene depicting Ceres and Proserpina within a symmetric cartouche of scrollwork and foliage, further vignettes of an eagle, a swan, a stalk and a stag, the bezel similarly decorated with fruits and foliage, both signed and numbered I.W incuse 1979, outer gilt-metal shagreen covered case
Condition
Movement running at the time of cataloging. Dial with a small chip at 6 o'clock by the opening lever, hands in good condition, inner case with scuffs and scratches throughout, indentation and gauging to band. Repousse with scuffs and scratches, figures and detail with rubbed and have lost definition. The outer case with the shagreen loose to the case back and bezel. All cases closing securely.
