in Louis XV style with scroll carved decoration, formerly gilded

Probably Sir John Stuart Hepburn-Forbes, 8th Bt. (1804-1866) after William Burns alterations to Fettercairn House between 1827-1829

Condition

Lovely quality. Gallery inspection is recommended. Please contact the department for further information on measurements and extra photographs. Losses to carved applique at corner joins. Now white painted with chips and losses to the surface. Losses to later paint reveal bright gilding although how much of this original surface is intact is hard to say.
