each variously decorated with a monogrammed beribboned cartouche enclosing interlaced letters reading JWB, divided by scattered floral sprays, all below floral sways and gadrooned borders; comprising: a large punch bowl, a coffee pot with cover and two cups, a tea caddy, a tea bowl, a pair of small beaker vases, three large mugs and a wine cooler

Provenance

The initials are almost certainly for John Belsches Wishart (1752-1802) who most probably acquired these pieces

Condition

The large punch bowl has been broken and repaired. The wine cooler has a repair to one entwined handle and an 8mm by 3mm shallow chip to the rim. The large cylindrical tankard has a 3.5cm by 5mm chip to the rim and associated crack, as well as crazing. The larger rounded tankard has a 11cm crack running form the rim. The smaller rounded tankard is in good condition, but has minor rubbing to the gilding on the rim. The teapot is in good condition. The teabowl has been broken and repaired. One of the coffee cups has a 3.5cm crack running from the rim and is crazed to the interior. The two small beaker vases are European and one has a 5.5cm crack running from the rim.
