Catalogue Note
VERY SCARCE. "This is a attenuated version of Nordenskjöld's narrative - the principal account of the Swedish South Polar Expedition of 1901-04 - lacking much of the illustration and scientific commentary of the original Swedish and German editions. The volume's green cloth binding is also prone to fading.. Nordenskjöld's was the first journey to winter over in the Antarctic peninsula" (Taurus).
