Condition
The canvas is lined. Some frame abrasions along the left edge. A faint craquelure pattern visible in parts of the upper left quadrant, which appears stable. Some scattered brown spots of staining scattered through the foreground; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals areas of retouching along each edge, some areas around the centre of the composition and some further scattered retouchings through the composition.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
