Condition

The canvas has been lined. There are craquelure patterns visible throughout the canvas. There is a speck of paint loss in the lower right hand foreground with an associated area of paint lifting. UV light inspection reveals some infilling to the sky and foreground in the right hand portion of the canvas. An area of retouching possibly to an old restoration to the left of the figure group beneath the trees. Some further areas of feathered retouching to the trees and around them in the left hand portion of the canvas. Some further retouching elsewhere. Held in a gilt frame.
