Catalogue Note

François Bocion is a representative of the Swiss Pre-Impressionist movement, best known for his light-flooded landscape paintings. His impressive work Chemin dans les vignes was painted during one of his trips to Lake Geneva. Bocion depicts a young winemaker walking among terraced vineyards in the region of Lavaux on a sunny spring day. The depicted area above Dézaley in the community of Puidoux is characterized by steep and sunny slopes, offering spectacular views over the Lake Geneva.
