Condition

4 screw holes in the pedestal in the centre of each edge. At the back right some of the sticks are dirty. Surface cleaning recommended. Very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Angel Duarte was a founding member of Equipo 57, a group of artists active in Spain during the 50s who developed a theory about space interactivity. This research sparked interest from Max Bill who collaborated with Angel Duarte years later in Switzerland.

Angel Duarte war Mitbegründer der spanischen Künstlergruppe Equipo 57, welche zwischen 1957 und 1962 aktiv war. Diese Künstlergemeinschaft entwickelte eine Kunsttheorie über Interaktionen zwischen dreidimensionalen Körpern und Räumen. Die Forschungsarbeiten erweckten das Interesse des bekannten Schweizer Architekten, Designers und Malers Max Bill, der Jahre später mit Duarte während dessen Schweizer Aufenthaltes zusammenarbeitete.
