Description

  • Porcelain, wood base Dalbergia
modeled after the archaic jade prototype, the body of square section rising from a short straight circular foot to a tapering circular neck with a lipped rim, molded with the ‘Eight Trigrams’ to each of the four sides, covered overall in a lustrous pale sea-green glaze, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue, wood stand (2)

Collection of Bernard Mannes Baruch (1870-1965), New York (by repute).

Condition

In overall good condition with only minor firing imperfections (scattered small iron spots), and minor expected wear to the surface and footring. Remnants of a label on the base. The glaze is slightly greener than in the printed catalog. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
