Condition
The canvas has been laid on board which has become warped and the original tacking edges are missing. The lowermost part of the signature has been cut through in the lower right corner. The lower left corner of the board is bent upwards and there is a crease through the paint layer with some minor associated paint loss. A horizontal seam which runs along the top edge of the canvas has torn through in the upper right corner. There is general wear to the edges and corners. Pin holes are visible in places at the edges. There is a layer of surface dirt with scattered spots of dirt in places. Inspection under UV light reveals restoration to the seam along the top edge and other minor spots of restoration to the water in the upper left of the composition. Held in a gold painted frame with plaster mouldings. Unexamined out of frame.
