Ten etchings with aquatint, drypoint and engraving printed in sepia ink, 1863, from the first edition, made in the workshop of Laurenciano Potenciano for the Real Academia, Madrid, on thick wove paper, some bearing a J.G.O. and a Palmette watermark, bound in the original pink paper covers with the stencilled number '8' in ink on the cover

Condition

With full margins, in generally good condition apart from small fox marks mainly at sheet edges, some sheets with paper discoloration at extreme sheet edges, occasional soft handling creases in the margins (only visible upon close inspection). Imperfections to individual sheets include: pl. 71: the upper and lower right corners with light-staining and foxing, creased and folded over, with a minute loss in the upper sheet edge (measuring approx. 1mm). pl. 75 with a minute loss towards the upper left corner. pl. 76 with a minute tear at right sheet edge (measuring approx. 2mm) The front cover with paper discoloration, slight staining and creasing and the occasional small tear at sheet edges.
