The complete book, comprising 17 aquatints printed in colours, 1939, 82 wood engravings by G. Aubert, with paper wrappers, title page, text, and justification, this copy numbered 45 from the total edition of 245, on Montval paper, bound in navy blue leather-covered boards by Marot-Rodde with silk doublures and title in gold on spine, in original painted paper covered slip-case, printed by Lacourière, published by Vollard, Paris

Condition

The aquatints in good condition, the colours bright and fresh, the verso of the aquatints with minor discoloration, occasional stray fox marks in margins. The book in good condition apart from minor paper discoloration and slight creasing at sheet edges, an area of paper discoloration on the first blank leaf, the original paper wrappers with overall discoloration. The leather boards and slip case with minor scuffs and signs of wear.
