large-format, mounted, signed in ink on the mount, the photographer's credit stamp, with title and date in pencil, on the reverse, 1956, printed later (Karsh, p. 111)
Provenance
Lunn Gallery/Graphics International Ltd., Washington, D. C., 1980
Condition
This large-format print is in generally excellent condition. In raking light, a small, soft impression is visible in the lower right portion of the image. There are two irregular scratches: one near the antlers that intermittently breaks the emulsion, and one in the upper right corner that does not appear to break the emulsion. The tips of the mount corners are very lightly creased.
On the reverse of the mount, the number '102809' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil. The photographer's credit stamp, on the reverse of the mount, was not fully inked, and is as follows: 'Photograph by Yousuf Karsh.'
